The Watchmaker’s Watchmaker

Other watchmakers buy from JLC. You skip the middleman.
A polo match at sunset. You flip the Reverso to its blank side, protecting the dial. Across the field, only one other person notices the gesture — another initiate. A nod between strangers who recognise each other.
Jaeger-LeCoultre is for the cultured connoisseur who values substance over reputation. The art critic, the editor, the architect — those who appreciate that the best version of something is often the one that supplied the imitations.
Founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux by Antoine LeCoultre, the Manufacture has produced over 1,400 different calibres in its history — more than any other watchmaker. For decades, JLC built the movements that other prestigious Maisons signed and sold.
Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the few true Manufactures — meaning everything is made in-house, from the smallest screw to the most complex tourbillon. The Reverso, designed in 1931 for British polo players, became an icon precisely because of its functional honesty.
